Intro
Descartes (Jaguar partner) is offering EA Advance Notice messaging. Effective 12/31/2010 EU (European Union) Customs starting enforcing new regulations which requires air shipment information to be sent via EDI transmission to the airline prior to departure. This is effective for all shipments ex the United States of America bound to any of the EU countries.
Conditions for EU Advance Notice
- Currently it is only the New York office that is required to do this.
- It only needs to be done for airlines that we book directly with and that are destined to and/or trans-shipping through an EU location.
- It is also required to send an HTS number for the freight that is shipping.
